These are old NMOS parts, which haven't been available from NS for
many years.  They have been superseded by the PC16550D which is a CMOS
part.  Regardless, I believe their functionality is fine.

No.  NS stopped using the squiggly logo and just used a solid white
vertical line for a while, and are now using the funny rounded N on
some parts.
