I can't remember ever hearing any of the respected BSD people proclaim
themselves to be an expert.  They usually let their code and technical
discussions speak for themselves.

In my experience (disclaimer: I'm not suggesting this applies to you),
people who are self-proclaimed experts, aren't.

Probably the people that are considering using the advice of a
self-proclaimed expert.

Alternatively, one can come to their own conclusions.
