I do run some linux apps within a jail with version
>FreeBSD black 4.2-STABLE FreeBSD 4.2-STABLE #0: Sun Mar 11 23:25:32 CET 2001

I installed linux_base-6.1 without problems.  But I don't even have
an /compat/linux/dev directory...
