    I have an ASUS P/I-P55T2P4...  Here's a snippet from dmesg:

    My IDE controller is NOT disabled, but as you see, I get essentially
the same last line.

    I have an Adaptec 2940UW and a Diamond Stealth 2M VRAM video card on the
PCI bus and have noticed no problems with either.
