I just recompiled a 4.10 kernel with bfe support.
I grab source code from http://people.freebsd.org/~dmlb/bfe-4.8.tar.gz

At boot time, I get:
pci1: <unknown card> (vendor=0x14e4, dev=0x170c) at 14.0 irq 11

When I try to insert the driver manually:
module_register: module pci/bfe already exists!
linker_file_sysinit "if_bfe.ko" failed to register! 17

I think I'm gone go back to Linux...

cheers,

Guillaume
