Mine has been running pretty much full time for two years.  It is a lot 
quieter and cooler to the touch than the Toshiba 3 1/2" drives on my 
machine at work.  I also like its feature allowing the SCSI controller to 
command it to spin up.  That allows me to sequence the starting transients 
just enough that my UPS doesn't beep at me any more when I turn the machine 
on.

On the down side, it's old, big, and slow, but then so am I.
