Just installed.  Interesting to note that they were written at the
University of Washington (I live in the Seattle area and have been to the
UW campus many times).  Kinda makes 'em feel homey.

BTW, very simple newbie-ish question probably so simple that it's
inappropriate anywhere else, so I'll risk someone's wrath and ask it.
What's the equivalent in Unix of %1, %2, etc in a DOS batch file?  For
example, if I wanted to run a program with the contents of the command line
(say, for creating an alias in .cshrc), what do I use?
