[FBSD vs Solaris question snipped] > Also: has anyone loaded their OS from the network or have you found the > CDROM from walnut creek to be a better route? If you don't have an internet connection yet, or if your connection is not very fast, here's what you do: -Make sure all your machines have a FBSD supported ethernet card -Install a cheap (but FBSD supported) CDROM drive on _one_ machine -Use the Walnut Creek CD to install FBSD on the machine with the CDROM -Set up the machine with the CDROM drive so that the /cdrom dir is available for anonymous FTP -Install FBSD on the other machines via FTP from the local CDROM machine Werks grate. Probably the fastest installation, and only requires one CDROM drive. ===================================================================== | Steve Reid - SysAdmin & Pres, EDM Web (http://www.edmweb.com/) | | Email: steve@edmweb.com Home Page: http://www.edmweb.com/steve/ | | PGP (2048/9F317269) Fingerprint: 11C89D1CD67287E68C09EC52443F8830 | | -- Disclaimer: JMHO, YMMV, TANSTAAFL, IANAL. -- | ===================================================================:)
