Nope, I do not have the CVS tree. More than willing to get it though.
I'll try to get it after mailing thing. How about some pointers on
getting it and using it in case I get stuck.

I have made some progress with this problem. I disabled the wide
negotiation for all the devices on the internal narrow SCSI bus with
SCSI-Select. I am now able to boot all the time with the new -stable
kernel. It is also up and running fine, except I cann't mount, or
do much after a succesful mount, any device on the narrow bus
without problems and error messages. I have been able to boot
off of sd1, only with the same problems of hanging during boot or
hanging while running.

Here is my SCSI buses in case you need to know:

Internal wide SCSI bus:
	Seagate ST15150W - id 0, sd0

Internal narrow SCSI bus:
	Fujitsu 2624A - id 3, sd1
	Iomega 150 Multidisk - id4, sd2
	Plextor CD-ROM - id5, cd0a

BTW, what happens if you connect something to the external wide bus
while both internal buses are connected? The manual only says, "DO NOT
DO IT!". I hope it just won't work, instead of frying things.

Yes it did. A typo, sorry.
