Chapter "7.2 Setting Up the Sound Card" is somewhat deprecated in the handbook. There is no "device pcm" in FreeBSD 5.3-BETA2 anymore. For example, if you have a sound card with es137x chip you need to configure the kernel with: device sound device "snd_es137x" instead of: device pcm -- Miika Komu miika@iki.fi http://www.iki.fi/miika/
