Thanks to all for the help in getting my AWE64 gold running. A "cat audfile.au > /dev/audio1" now works just fine. So next, I'm tring to get x11amp going. The freebsd version whines that I don't have the OSS driver, and the linux version spews: Linux-emul(19301): setup() not supported continously without doing anything except pegging the CPU. And while I'm pleading for help .. ;-) How does one play .wav files? Cat to the device doesn't work, and neither does: sox foo.wav -t au /dev/audio1 thanks again, - Frank \\\\////\\\\////\\\\\////\\\\\////\\\\////\\\\////\\\\////\\\\////\\\\////\\\\ Frank Terhaar-Yonkers Cisco Systems, Inc.
