It does. It does not use SDRAM DIMMs if that is what you mean. Well, they definitely use buffered DIMMs, I have some sitting here on my desk (my AS500 was borrowed by a friend). In case you want to research if they are EDO or FPM, the chips on the DIMMs are SEC KM44C4000AS-6 Given that the AS600 uses FPM (to the best of my knowledge) I guess AS500 has FPM as well (but I could be wrong).
