Our older version (now obsolete) 2.4.23C did work just fine under FreeBSD
when you compiled it the "right" way.  :-)

We had a bug in there (long since forgotten AND fixed BTW) which would
disappear when you compiled with -O or -g (if you get crashes, recompile
with the other one than the one you used to originally compile) CFLAG.

Better solution: grab our latest version 3.5.6 -- there will always be
bugs, but this one is much better.  Also, periodically check out our FAQ
since we list found and fixed bugs there.  Check for all this at this URL:
