I'll take your word for it, as I have not worked with Outlook 2000.

OE 5 didn't exist when Office 97 was released, as I recall.

Why?  I have Office 97 installed already.  I use OE 6 for e-mail.  Outlook
is installed but I no longer use it.

As I've said, unless the code has been _completely rewritten_, that is not
the case.  They are two different products.
