Subject: Surecom EP-427X (NE2000 Clone) Net Card Problem

I just bought myself a Surecom EP-427X PCMCIA net card for use on my
Thinkpad 600, as it was listed in the list of compatible hardware as an
NE2000 clone.

I set up the ed driver in my kernel config (device ed) and set up an
entry in pccard.conf, as the card identified itself differently than the
Surecom in the default pccard.conf.

card "CouplerlessPCMCIA" "100BASE"
     config auto "ed" ?
     insert /etc/pccard_ether $device start
     remove /etc/pccard_ether $device stop

I think the identification may be different to that in the default
pccard.conf because it's a new version of the card with no dongle. I was
hoping so anyway.

When I insert the card, it matches the entry in pccard.conf but fails to
get going properly with the following messages from pccardd: driver
allocation failed for CouplerlessPCMCIA(100BASE): Device not configured.

Could anyone help me out with what I've done wrong here.

Thanks.
