Go to http://www.datafellows.com and look at their F-Secure product.
It is basically a stripped down NetBSD kernel with some userland
utilities which is then installed onto a dedicated machine with
two (or one!) ethernet cards and which provides encryption of
TCP/IP tunnels. It uses exactly the same protocol as SSH to communicate
with the other side of the tunnel.
