Hello,

I'm looking for a FreeBSD friendly notebook. I have checked these websites
for info:

* http://tuxmobil.org/mobile_bsd.html
* http://gerda.univie.ac.at/freebsd-laptops/

Sadly the notebooks I'm considering aren't listed yet, therefore I would
appreciate your comments on these notebooks:

* Acer TravelMate 2303NLC [LX.T560C.039]
  Mobile Intel Celeron M 340 1.5GHz CPU,
  Intel 852GM chipset,
  Intel 852GM integrated 3D AGP graphics featuring Intel Extreme Graphics 2,
  256MB DDR RAM, 40GB HDD, DVD-CDRW, no FDD,
  56Kbps V.90 modem, wired LAN 10/100,
  15.0" XGA TFT display

* Acer Aspire 1362LC [LX.A3605.177]
  AMD Sempron 2800+ CPU,
  VIA ProSavage KN400 chipset,
  Integrated UniChrome Pro IGP with up to 64 MB of shared video RAM,
  S-VIDEO output,
  256MB DDR RAM, 40GB HDD, DVD-CDRW, no FDD,
  56Kbps V.90 modem, wired LAN 10/100,
  15.0" XGA TFT display

* Compaq HP nx9020
  Mobile Intel Celeron M 350 1.30GHz CPU,
  Intel 852GM chipset,
  Intel 852GM integrated 3D AGP graphics featuring Intel Extreme Graphics 2,
  256MB DDR RAM, 40GB HDD, DVD-CDRW, no FDD,
  56Kbps V.90 modem, wired LAN 10/100,
  15" XGA TFT display

I would especially be interested to hear about:

* builtin modem (VERY IMPORTANT)
* builtin NIC
* XFree86 / XOrg (max. resolution, DRI)
* ACPI support
* APM support
* PC-CARD support
* noise level, temperatures
* case quality (fragility, ...)

If you have one of those notebooks and run FreeBSD 4 or 5 on it
please help me, all comments are welcome! :)

TIA,
Paul Meyer
