Gentlemen, I'm juggling four different patch sets on my machine...
that's *AFTER* the commit. It's hard enough juggling multiple patch
sets, even harder if a commit cannot be made on a timely basis.

The compromise of the original commit is simple: The commit had to
occur, the majority of the elements in the commit were approved. I
made a compromise and committed it as is with a provisio, made *extremely*
clear in email, that we could remove the cruft in two weeks. This was
to get the damn patch set out of the way in order to be able to move
    onto other things.

Now, unless all of *you*, and especially you, DG, are juggling multiple
patch sets, you really have no call to yell and scream over what is
an extremely minor and resolveable ( indeed, resolved if one is willing
to wait 2 weeks ) problem.

I am getting wholely sick and tired of these reactionary postings,
especially postings made by people who should know better.
