If you need stability, you do not want anything with 2.2 in front of it. This is all code under development, and it does go through periods of being broken. If you need to set up this machine now, grab 2.1-960606-SNAP to bootstrap, then upgrade the stable source tree, and make the world. There you will be with 2.1-stable. If you can wait a little, 2.1.5 should be out soon, and that should be very stable.
