Further data point: 6.1-PRERELEASE (checked out earlier today) in a
uniprocessor Athlon XP machine (peeceeh) with one Tekram DC-390U2W (LSI
53C895 on PCI card) appears to work for me. Can dig up details if
desired.

One LVD tape drive here, Tandberg SLR6 (aka. SLR24).
