You might want to check out the CMU Cyrus IMAP server suite.  It is
primarily an IMAP4 server; but has a pop daemon to allow POP-protocol
access to the IMAP inboxes.  For more info see:

I've been very happy with it so far; with the caveat that I haven't
even tried the popd - we all use IMAP-capable mail readers.
