I tried to compile a 2.2.6-R kernel with gcc-2.8.1, did not work.  I posted
a question about it, but no one replied so I figured 2.8.1 is to broken to
use (or to much of a hassel for anyone to fix right now).  If you get it to
work, please let me know.
