Hi there!
I'm trying to install 3C503-16 (Etherlink II/16) card in the PCI (SIS)
machine running 2.0.5-RELEASE. Looks like driver requires shared memory
to be present on the card. however memory test fails (in dos) when I
enable shared ram at C8000, but test passes ok when shared ram is disabled.
so the question is whether PCI/ISA bridge is at fault (I'm getting
a message from freebsd telling me:
pci0:5: vendor=0x1039, device=0x496, class=bridge [not supported]

)
However I wonder why it fails on RAM test in dos anyway?
Thanx for any clues.
Please e-mail directly.
AGL
