Note he is talking about building the kernel, which is really unrealistic
right now. "Building a good chunk of userland" is not unrealistic. 

But - to go to tcc, there would need to be a group of people who oversaw
that it didn't rot. Not to mention seeing the same about non-x86
platforms.
