I am little bit confused:

What's different with the ixgbe(4) than em(4)? i.e. My second em(4)
interface auto-negotiates properly on boot up, why shouldn't ixgbe
without having to do an additional ifconfig down/up cycle?

(my ifconfig output above might be a little off since I was debugging
my SFP issues).
