I own a Matrox Millenium and is fast enough for me . It works and I can watch TV on it with fxtv using PCI to PCI transfer. Unless you are doing heavy cad usage or pumping thousands of polygons / sec must adapters now days are sufficient except the ones with DRAM . When I originally benchmarked my matrox millenium it clocked at 1.2 million xstones. Now days, I think in terms of added features for instance: 1. mpeg playback 2. 3d capabilities 3. sound 4. support for multiple cards (you can have two milleniums in a system) 5. builtin video out.
