I own a Matrox Millenium and is fast enough for me . It works and I can
watch TV on it with fxtv using PCI to PCI transfer. Unless you are
doing heavy cad usage or pumping thousands of polygons / sec must
adapters now days are sufficient except the ones with DRAM .

When I originally benchmarked my matrox millenium it clocked at 1.2
million xstones.

Now days, I think in terms of added features for instance:
1. mpeg playback
2. 3d capabilities
3. sound
4. support for multiple cards (you can have two milleniums in a system)
5. builtin video out.
