Hi,

I have my sound card setup, and it works ok.. but the
volume is to high/loud. I tried setting the volume
lower with the "mixer" command, but it didnt change
the volume (even though it changed the setting). Heres
my sound card info from dmesg:

pcm0: <VIA VT8235> port 0xbc00-0xbcff irq 11 at device
17.5 on pci0
pcm0: <C-Media Electronics CMI9739 AC97 Codec>

I'd appreciate any help you could provide. Please
email me directly, since im not subscribed to the
list.

TIA
