There is no ATAPI CD-R support for -stable.  There may be ATAPI support 
for the current ATA framework in 3.0, and an enterprising 2.2 user 
could possibly backport it, but at this point the code is still under 
developement.

One thing becoming clear is that ATAPI CD-R's are even more touchy and 
susceptible to timing problems than SCSI units.  They're not to be 
recommended for busy systems...
