Hi everyone,
My name is Alex, and I have been wrestling with a new installation of
FreeBSD. I want to get X Windows running, but I keep getting the error:

xf86EnableIO: Failed to open /dev/io for extended I/O

whenever I run X -configure

I checked /dev/io and it is there. I looked in the kernel and I do have
"device io" there as well. I am running FreeBSD 5.4-RELEASE.
/usr/src/sys/i386/compile/GENERIC

Thanks in advance,
Alex
