12.2-RELEASE installer doesn't detect any disks on Dell UEFI PC: I have a new Dell XPS 8940 system: 256GB SSD, and 1TB HD drives. I made a USB memstick from this: FreeBSD-12.2-RELEASE-amd64-memstick.img.xz and that will boot up just fine. However: it can't see any disks on the Dell system, except for itself (ada0), so I cannot install. I have disabled Secure Boot on the Dell's UEFI boot setup (without that the USB memstick would not boot properly). I had shrunk the Windows C: on the SSD, and the empty D: drive, so Windows now looks like this (Win10 makes this very wide, so each output is in two parts): PS C:\Windows\system32> Get-Disk Number Friendly Name Serial Number HealthStatus ------ ------------- ------------- ------------ 1 PM991 NVMe... 3530_4130_4EB3_6021_0025_3846... The installer does not "see" any of the above. From either the shell or the live system, all /dev has for disk is: crw-r----- 1 root operator 0x5f Jan 25 11:10 da0 crw-r----- 1 root operator 0x60 Jan 25 11:10 da0s1 crw-r----- 1 root operator 0x61 Jan 25 11:10 da0s2 crw-r----- 1 root operator 0x64 Jan 25 11:10 da0s2a Those entries are the memstick. So, I am stuck. What do I do to make the SSD and HD partitions show up? FWIW, here is the dmesg output from the installer shell: ---<<BOOT>>--- Copyright (c) 1992-2020 The FreeBSD Project.
