I am no longer involved but I asked collegue Alex Aminoff who has done our recent upgrades. Here is his report: We have not had any trouble booting 12.0 diskless. What we did is take our 11.3 installation and upgraded it using freebsd-update . We had to do it carefully using the -b <basedir> flag. In out boot directory, we have: -r-xr-xr-x 3 root wheel 372736 Dec 23 12:02 boot/loader_lua -r-xr-xr-x 2 root wheel 488960 Dec 23 12:02 boot/loader_lua.efi -r--r--r-- 1 root wheel 2402 Dec 23 12:02 boot/lua/loader.lua Hope this is of some help. We do like booting diskless and want to thank whoever at FreeBSD keeps it an option for us. > > Since the introducction of the wonderfull, coll lua to the loader I > get the error: > > ERROR: cannot open /boot/lua/loader.lua: no such file or directory > > With 12.0 I managed once to boot using the pxeboot of 11.2, but that > does not work anymore. > > Do someone boot diskless? > > I thank for any hint > Rod. > > _______________________________________________ > freebsd-questions@freebsd.org mailing list > https://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions > To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-questions-unsubscribe@freebsd.org" >
