Yep, it was the AHA-2920 on irq 11.  I just removed it and
there is no change in the behavior.  When I access the HPT
drive it locks up on   command timeout, resetting drives...

Yell if there is any additional debugging I can help with in the code.
I have no problem mucking kernel code, i've done it for years.
