It's as much my ugly baby as anyone else's, and I'm quite capable of
applying a swat to the its seat as necessary.  I only re-compile the
world once every two or three weeks, and it's easy enough for me to
determine from the commit mail when is a good time to do so.

They ARE usable for a developer.  There *is* *nothing* *wrong*.
