On Tue, Oct 23, 2001 at 10:02:34AM +0100 I heard the voice of Lawrence Farr, and lo! it spake thus: > The 3Ware controllers are discontinued. I have a 2400A with 4x WD 100Gb > disks > which I am testing today. I'll post the results later. And a damn shame it is, too. I've got a few 6200's in service, and that's wonderful. Not too bad to configure, blazing fast, neat web-based monitor. (Note: this is just RAID1. I haven't tried, and wouldn't want to try, RAID5 on them. But they FLY on mirroring). root% time dd if=/dev/twed0s1a of=/dev/null bs=16m count=20 20+0 records in 20+0 records out 335544320 bytes transferred in 9.448652 secs (35512401 bytes/sec) 0.000u 0.366s 0:09.46 3.8% 69+35667k 0+0io 0pf+0w That's on a RAID1 with a pair of IBM 60GXP's (60 gig, 7200RPM). I love it.
