we know about bug in DEC prioris XL using Mercury chipset
we use one of this box, and found that PCI dont work properly ...
systems reboot's without diagnostic ... specialy when PCI ethernet in use ...
fxp0 dont work with Mercury on 100Mbps ...
use EISA in this case ...
