The only native(unsupported) Oracle Clients that I know of is Oracle 7.3...?
I did see that in the archives. I'm not sure how man changes or additions
to the OCI have occurred through 8.1.7. I guess for straight foward connections
they should be fine. I like to run the full server so I use the Linux Version.
I compile a Linux Perl and DBI/DBD::Oracle. Since this email was originally
about DBD::Oracle, well it is in the subject line :-), I use DBD::Proxy on
other FreeBSD servers, this only requires DBD::Oracle to be running on the
server. So I don't need the Oracle Clients on the addtional severs and is
quite fast...this could be an alternative solution.
