(The file is in transit -- make sure all 11985580 bytes are there prior to download) +From the README.dap in ftp://hub.freebsd.org/pub/dap/jdk115: jdk115b2.tar.gz finally fixes the kluge in the platform interface which required busy-wait polling of active file descriptors. This version, reported by `java -version' is: java version "jdk1.1-dap:1998/01/07-05:19" This version corresponds to the patch kit, released this morning, as it was built by applying the patch kit to a fresh tree. The patch kit is found in patch-kit.tar.gz. There are several known bugs, and many unknown ones. 1. Certain Java applications can cause the X-Server to consume all the paging space in the system and die. If using one of the following window managers, this problem is ameliorated: mwm afterstep <none> 2. Various SEGV and ABORT traps due to incompatabilities between Motif and lesstif. 3. The molecule viewer demo apps have stopped working. 4. Window manager interactions vis-a-vis initial window placement is ad-hoc, and the hacks made to get it to work with fvwm usually work, but occasionally, a window is placed on the screen, but subsequently jumps. Enjoy!
