Without prior arrangement, but every time you play a song, you write it
down. Several times a year you count up how many songs you played,
multiply by the current royalty rate, and submit the song list along
with a cheque to a royalty clearing house. They add up how often each
song was played and disburse the funds accordingly.

--lyndon (a very occasional DJ once upon a time, who *hated* filling in
