I had a good look at that - I seem to remember a post (possibly by
this author) stating that it in fact only worked with the TNT chipset
(which is not a problem from my point of view).

The no interrupts, no DMA is a bit of a problem - I want to push the
interface pretty hard (the chip is capable of ~8M/sec), and PIO
isn't going to make me very popular 8)

Looks like I have some work ahead 8)  Thanks for the pointer.
