Thanks again for alll your input.
I had found the link above and with Boris's hints was able to finally
get it all going. There was a little issue with sound, but I found a
solution for that.
So now I have everything running as it should. Whew, finally.
The only thing I have not done is make a custom kernel and install a
wireless card. I don't think the former is necessary as it runs fine and
only gives a few warning messages that don't seem to hinder the operation.
The wireless seems to be well documented.
As things stand now, I think I shall get rid of, or at least mothball
,MicroSlop and use it from wine should I ever really need it. :-)
Now, I'm happy and can get back to some more serious work setting up
some web sites. ;-)
