URLs in postings to mailing lists are sometimes used to attract readers
of the list to a page that exploits a browser security hole.

Many firewalls block finger, because it is so often used for nefarious purposes.
However, even if it worked, it would not necessarily mean that there was not an 
exploit at the URL.

Note that I did not *say* it was a scam; I asked. However, it give the
appearance of one.... Especially since it accused the READER of attempting 
to break into the system via an exploit attempted mostly by "skript kiddies."
