I'm not sure I understand the question.  I've got an Compaq-donated
Alpha, running the Compaq-provided Linux-JDK in emulation mode that
should be adequate enough to bootstrap a FreeBSD-native port.

However, if history is at all a reflection os what we expect, the native
Alpha port will be the *slowest* JVM in the world w/out a JIT.  The
Linux port is slower on the box than it is on my 486/66 box, so it's no
speed daemon, that's for sure.

In a couple of weeks, there will be no BSDi.  It's not obvious at this
time if there will be a relationship.
