Again, as I stated below, the early JIT is not Sun's, so they don't give
out source code to it (even to commercial licensees).  The commercial
licensees either developed their own, or went JITless.

I don't either.  I don't believe the Blackdown folks ever used it,
although I don't know for sure.

The original thinking was that Sun was going to allow a binary
distribution.  However, the licenses they've proposed have been unusable
up to this point.

That's what I thought as well (since that's how JDK1.1 stuff was
licensed), but things changed in JDK1.2.  You have to pass the JCK tests
*and* have a valid distribution license.  Sun gave us access to the
former, but so far not the latter.

Sort of, but we'd be in violation of it the day we signed it, hence it's
unusable.

It's certainly not off the scope, but w/out a basic J2SE, it's kind of a
moot point.

Again, we don't have any legal rights to distribute the binaries, so
there is no 'official' (or unofficial for that matter) distribution
site.
