Subject:   syslogd crashing on athlon 1.3G?

I don't know how to explain this, but I swapped a Athlon 750 for an
Athlon 1.3 (new motherboard and all).  More details to follow,
obviously, but syslogd panics the machine.  If I put
enable_syslogd="NO" in rc.conf, the machine runs normally (even
running X and a bunch of applications).  Any ideas?
