Thanks a lot for your support, here goes what happens:

My host scsi adapter id is 7
My hard disk scsi id is 0 (Quantum Viking II)

ahc0 <Adaptec 2940 Ultra SCSI host adapter> rev 1 int a irq 11 on
pci0:11:0
ahc0: aic7880 Wide Channel, SCSI id=7, 16 SCBs
ahc0 waiting for scsi devices to settle
ahc0: board is not responding
(ahc0:0:0) SCB 0x0 - timed out while idle, ......
....
...
...

...
(ahc0:0:1)....
...
...

What is going on?
Does 2.2.7 support adaptec 2940 ?

Thank you for your time and cooperation!
