Installing an app in a iPad is quite easy.  Use the App Store app and =
search for what you want.  However, you do have to be registered with an =
apple id.

I have tried to do what you need for a long time.  The obvious =
approaches are not supported.  Connecting via USB to a Mac gives you =
several options.  The best is Image Transfer app on the Mac.  However, =
there is yet another way:  Setup a dropbox account and you can easily =
transfer the images through it to any computer that supports drop box.  =
I had to go this way for one client.  It's not speedy, but it works.
