Great! I knew that Linux drivers were forthcoming, but didn't know about the
FreeBSD  efforts!

It sounds like you have it well in hand, but if there's anything we can do for
you, feel free to drop me a line at  eric@estinc.com and I'll forward it to
someone who actually knows something about tape drive hardware  (grin) (I'm the
networking and systems guru here,  tape drives are not my thing).
