I had no quibble with the direction being taken- insofar as I didn't
have a strong opinion about the specifics. I don't in general use KLMs
under *BSD and have not investigated KLDs to see if they would solve
persistent device/filesystem/emulation naming/loading/binding issues
(which is probably the only area I'd get excited about).

So, as such, a "heads up" to me would have elicited a "thanks for letting
me know" but not much else. But the principle of headsup was/is important.
Even further, a "heads up" with a "pay attention and help if you can" is
even better.
